BIXTEP: Notes in the Shell
BIXTEP is an XML Text Processor for the Bash shell whose intelligence is still in the making. The main development aim is to provide users with a tool to flexibly structure and control textual information. With only the most basic functions implemented, BIXTEP 0.1 is a text-mode tagged notecase suited for everyday use.

Posted June 11th, 2009 by kstepThis revision of the development version finally sets the course for the 0.2 release. In addition to many smaller improvements, the search functionality has been extended. One new feature is the possibility to filter entry lists. Also, the BXT file structure has been improved and BIXTEP can now be configured on a per-file basis. Some things still have to be decided on the way to 0.2 and you are invited to give feedback.

Posted August 1st, 2008 by kstepThis revision fixes some bugs and introduces new features to the user interface. One critical bug affecting the "add item" dialog was fixed. The menu structure has been changed. The configuration file has been split to core and ui. BIXTEP now supports custom key bindings and translations. English and German language files have been included.
Developing BIXTEP 0.2

UPDATED (August 1st, 2008): The current development version (download) introduces several improvements and major changes en route to BIXTEP 0.2. Bugs have been fixed, the user interface was revised, new features were implemented.
Above all, this version gives users the possibility to individually configure and fine-tune how BIXTEP works.
BIXTEP 0.1 released
Posted April 17th, 2008 by kstepFollowing some final testing and adjustments, the first official release of BIXTEP is now available for download. It features three item types, tags, full-text search, plain text export and more. Try it out, enjoy this release and keep in mind that your feedback is an essential contribution to the improvement of the tool.
