Developing BIXTEP 0.2

in

UPDATED (August 1st, 2008): The current development version (download) introduces several improvements and major changes en route to BIXTEP 0.2. Bugs have been fixed, the user interface was revised, new features were implemented.

Above all, this version gives users the possibility to individually configure and fine-tune how BIXTEP works.

User definable content types and field relations extend BIXTEP's utility. Now, you are able to decide on the structure of the content and can wire the information according to your needs.

Localization support has also been added. English and German language files are included, users can contribute more translations to the project.

Compared to the features of 0.1, BIXTEP 0.2-dev additionally brings you:

  • user definable content types
  • user definable field relations
  • user definable item relations
  • support for translations
  • customizable key bindings
  • improved interface
  • extended file menu
  • conditional search
  • search and replace
  • new file structure
  • better code documentation

For those of you who use BIXTEP or think about using it, 0.2-dev is already worth trying out, although it is not yet feature complete. However, please note that this is not a stable release. It's intended for previewing the new features and invites for feedback and participation. I do not recommend it for production use.

BIXTEP is currently a one man project. In order to facilitate others joining the development, I restructured the SVN repository and added some documentation to the code. Get in touch if you're interested.
