Installation
BIXTEP itself does not require any installation. All you have to do is download and unpack the tarball which will create a BIXTEP directory.
However, BIXTEP depends on the XMLStarlet package. You need to install this package (preferably with your distribution's package managing software) before using BIXTEP.
Most Linux distributions install Bash by default so probably you won't have to bother about installing it yourself. If you're using Ubuntu 6.10 or later, your default shell is Dash. In this case you have to make sure that BIXTEP is started using Bash (which is installed by default at /bin/bash). See the Getting Started guide for additional instructions.
